THE Banjup Residents’ Group has turned five.

The group has provided a loud voice for those in the eastern suburb of Cockburn, particularly of late.

It worked with the local council to reclassify Liddelow Road as a local distributor to discourage heavy trucks and pushed for a new suburb to be renamed Treeby after pioneers of the Banjup area.

Landowners across the City can also thank the BRG.

Last year the group was a key factor in getting the City of Cockburn to refund $1.36m it overcharged 14,500 properties with high gross rental values.
