But with work on their future home progressing well at |Cockburn Central West, the grass is starting to look pretty green on this side of the border.

Work on the $109 million sport and recreation centre at Cockburn Central West began in July.

The facility, a joint venture with City of Cockburn, Curtin University and State and Federal governments, should be open in early to mid-2017.

With the building now showing signs of life, the public’s excitement is growing all the time. But imagining Nat Fyfe and team mates training on the new playing oval in years to come is upping the anticipation too.

Dockers strategic projects manager Adrian Lacquiere said the turf had been growing well after being planted in October. But the club will not start using the oval for training until the new administration facilities are completed.
