Basement’s metal fundraiser

Staff ReporterFremantle Gazette

Hydee Douglas is taking part in the Cancer Council’s Relay for Life and is aiming to raise awareness and funds to help the charity by putting together a live music event, Down With The Sickness, with five local metal bands performing as well as fire twirler Prometheus and airbrush artist Elvi Art God.

‘The idea for a live music fundraiser was about doing something different and with many teams fundraising it is sometimes hard to come up with an original idea,’ Ms Douglas said.

‘The metal theme was an easy choice as not only do I enjoy metal music, I have many friends who are in local metal bands who were only more than happy to play to raise funds for the Cancer Council.’
