Beaconsfield couple deliver feels on wheels with Love Car

Jessica NicoFremantle Gazette

AN entrepreneurial couple from Beaconsfield are providing locals with their next romantic gesture in a unique way.

Col and Mandy Heenan have transformed a 1970s era Volkswagen Beetle into a musical telegram service on wheels dubbed the Love Car, delivering personalised love messages to locals complete with customised soundtrack, lights and even confetti.

Mrs Heenan said it was inspired by an experience she had while visiting Brazil 10 years ago that has stayed with her ever since.

“This car rocked up to my party, music blaring and a crazy pair of Brazilians jumped out and read this beautiful message over a loud speaker, while my favourite songs played in the background,” she said.

“It was thoroughly embarrassing and totally nuts but it was also the most thoughtful, fun and outrageous public declaration of love I’d ever received.

“That emotion I had when the telegram was delivered has stayed with me and that’s why I wanted to create the Love Car – to deliver that awesome feeling to people.

“It is an epic way to send a message from the heart while having a bit of a fun and there’s something about having an audience sharing in the experience that makes it more special.”
