Berrigan Drive improvement works to begin

Bryce LuffFremantle Gazette

BIBRA Lake firm Tracc Civil will begin work this month duplicating Berrigan Drive between the Kwinana Freeway and Jandakot Road.

The project includes extending Berrigan Drive 700m, changing the roundabout at Dean Road and Jandakot Road into traffic lights, and building a new road to link the revised junction with Pilatus Street (formerly Orion Road) at Jandakot Airport.

With 16,000 vehicles using the road every day, Cockburn’s engineering and works director Charles Sullivan said the City would work to keep the road open throughout construction.

“While the City is not able to give a guarantee that Berrigan Drive will remain completely open during the entire contract period, the City will work with the construction contractor to ensure the most efficient traffic management plan and temporary traffic controls are in place at all times,” he said.
