Best deputy Barr none

Mr Barr received the accolade, which recognises a person for helping deliver a quality education for students, at the Western Australian Primary Principals� Association conference on June 10.

He said he had received great support from school staff.

"I am never satisfied with my work as a deputy principal but was thrilled for the school, which is now a small but hard-working unit with fantastic students," he said.

Mr Barr came to the school in 2007 and worked on improving student behaviour, re-engaging students by showcasing their strengths, improving NAPLAN results and changing how the school used digital technology.
