Book on ‘invasive action’

Jessica NicoFremantle Gazette

The intervention was a collection of legislative changes to welfare and law enforcement in the Northern Territory in a bid to address alleged child abuse and neglect in Aboriginal communities.

But for Rosalie Kunoth-Monks, an Arrernte Alyawarra elder who will speak at the launch of The Intervention: An Anthology, it was an invasive action that has left many in distress.

Authors Rosie Scott and Anita Heiss brought together works from 20 Australian writers and statements from Northern Territory elders to shine a new light on the issue.
