Students were invited to dress as a character from their favourite book, resulting in a school full of colourful characters straight out of their imagination.
White Gum Valley primary’s Maureen French said the parade had become a well-loved annual event at the school.
‘Our school embraces whole-school events such as the Book Week Parade to bring our school community together, students, families and teachers,’ she said.
‘It is heartening to hear the older students cheering on the younger grades and the awe and pleasure as the children share their books with their classmates.’
She said the event really brought books to life for the students.
