Builder fined $21,000

The offences took place during a $53,000 renovation at a Hilton property in November 2012 when he performed work without the proper registration.

It is the second time in two years that Mr Jackson has been convicted of these offences and he has been fined more than $50,000.

Building Commissioner Peter Gow said people needed to familiarise themselves with their rights and responsibilities before hiring a builder.
