Restaurant Australia is a new international campaign that promotes some of the country’s best food and wine in key tourism locations such as Fremantle as a reason to visit.

South Fremantle’s Copper Chimney is one of the local restaurants signed up to take part in the campaign.

Chef Kaushal Verma said it was a great way to get more publicity on a global scale.

‘Exposure is the key benefit we see from this because having only been open for two-and-a-half years we are fairly new to the Fremantle restaurant scene,’ he said.

‘We saw this as a great opportunity to increase our visibility both within Fremantle and to the international market.’

Tourism Australia managing director John O’Sullivan said Fremantle had some amazing food and wine experiences on offer to visitors and that needed to be shared with the world.

‘The Restaurant Australia campaign has been developed in response to the growing global demand for exceptional food and wine as part of the travel experience,’ he said.
