Care Options, Volunteer Task Force and Community First to merge

THREE Perth not-for-profit care providers are merging with the aim of creating a stronger organisation.

Care Options, Volunteer Task Force and Community First are merging to form a sole support service organisation, and Care Options chief executive Sheilah Cummins said it would allow them to build on their strengths and grow their services to help more people.

“We’ll be working in collaboration with Volunteer Task Force and Community First board members, staff, volunteers and clients to provide the best possible outcomes through our merger, and to ensure a smooth transition of our customer services,” she said.

Community First executive director David Shelton said they would focus on providing better community services such as mental health and disability support.

“Much has changed in the aged and disability sectors and we are positioning ourselves for success, excellence and accessibility for a greater number of people in this new era,” he said.

“Given the changes already underway and those afoot, we believe our merger to be a natural, prudent and timely move forward.”

The merger is expected to happen in the next few months.
