KITTEN Yoga has landed in Perth – and it’s all for a good cause.

The first session, held at Warehouse Fitness in South Fremantle, saw a litter of kittens donated by Shenton Park-based Cat Haven for a one-hour class.

Marketing officer Chandra Woodley said the kittens were a huge hit among the yoga devotees – and the kittens had a great time.

“It is another unique way to raise public awareness of Cat Haven and to see the adoptable cats,” she said.

“The class participation fee becomes a donation to help support the animals, both in their everyday care at the shelter and for their medical needs.

“Cat Haven is a charity that relies almost solely on donations and with the forthcoming kitten season this summer, we are really desperate for funds.”

Regenerate Personal Training instructor Marg Anderson helped coordinate the first class and said it brought much-needed awareness and donations for the shelter.

Cat Haven plans to hold another Kitten Yoga session in Perth in the coming months and is keen to hear from qualified (cat loving) yoga instructors who are willing to volunteer their time to run a class.
