The Lion Club’s 50th anniversary was celebrated with a look back at all the projects that members have undertaken through the years, including Children of Courage, Youth of the Year Quest and the club’s help with setting up Radio Lollipop in Fremantle Hospital’s Children’s Ward.

Lions Club of Fremantle secretary Margaret Amm said members believed in the work they did in the community.

‘It gives us all a sense of satisfaction when we help those who are not as fortunate as we are,’ she said.

‘Reaching 50 years as a Service Club is a great achievement and one that would be rarely accomplished in the modern era.

‘This celebration is very important in recognising those who have gone before us and those who are currently involved with the club.’
