Cheer champions show leap of faith

Taking part in the competition as part of O’Connor group Fit2Cheer, India Rain and Josie Grace were members of an 18-strong team that won the Division One category, achieving the highest overall score in the process.

India, from White Gum Valley, said the duo were inspired by the idea of acrobatics combined with dance and working as a team and had been with the group for a year.

‘Coming first and winning the level 1 division as well felt so amazing,’ she said.

‘We had people stopping and congratulating us in the streets in Queensland.

‘There were so many teams from all around Australia so we made lots of new friends and the whole event ended in a huge party, so it was an amazing experience and one we will never forget.’

Fit2Cheer will compete at the SM Down Under All-Stars Championships and the CUA Spring State Titles next month.
