City of Cockburn to manage old Jandakot Primary School site

Bryce LuffFremantle Gazette

THE old Jandakot Primary School on Poletti Road will be managed by the City of Cockburn and made available for hire under the City’s booking system.

The school was previously managed by the Old Jandakot School Management Committee (OJSM), although they have informed the council they can longer continue to do so.

The OJSM’s request, which was backed by the City, was for the council to allow current users, including the Lions Club of Jandakot Lakes, to continue to use the facility as they do.

They also wanted it made available to other low risk educational and children’s groups.

The new system should see the facility used more often.

Between 8am and 3pm Monday to Saturday, the heritage building is generally not used.
