City to install new signs

The new signs, part of the $600,000 Fremantle Wayfinding Project, will be installed in prominent locations around Fremantle, North Fremantle and South Fremantle to not only help people find their way but point out key attractions and activities.

Fremantle mayor Brad Pettitt said as many as 40 signs would be installed in June as part of stage one, although exact locations for the signs had not been decided on yet.

As Fremantle continues to mature and grow as a city an integrated signage system to help people find their way around is critical,” he said.

“In recent years we’ve seen the emergence of popular new precincts in South Fremantle and North Fremantle, so another key outcome is to ensure visitors are made aware of these areas to help local businesses leverage off Fremantle’s growing visitor economy.”
