Contributions of funding received from the Department of Sport and Recreation, Town of East Fremantle and the fundraising effort of the two clubs have combined for the $450,000 needed to refit the 50-year-old building.

East Fremantle Lacrosse Club president Peter Cann said the upgrade would allow them to include disability access, separate change rooms for their male and female players, a new canteen and the upgrade of sewerage connections.

‘The upgrade to the facility is essential to bring the current building up to current standards,’ he said.

‘We are excited, as it will allow for members and visiting teams to have appropriate change room facilities.

‘The facility upgrade we hope will assist the joint clubs to promote our sport to the wider community, with the aim of attaching new members while retaining existing members.’
