The episode, one of eight in the series, will tell stories from the State’s South-West. While the show’s producer was scarce with details ” it is months until the show screens ” it’s believed the episode will involve stories of Fremantle Port, including that of Italian brides who met their husbands-to-be at the port for the very first time.

Local pair Vincenzo and Angela Palumbo took part in filming earlier this year.

Ms Palumbo arrived in Fremantle in April 1963 as a 19-year-old from Italy to marry Vincenzo, although it was not the first time the couple had met.

Vincenzo’s cousin actually married Angela’s sister prior to their own marriage. Ms Palumbo recalled her nerves on arrival. ‘I remember his whole family waiting for me and that Fremantle was quiet compared to Italy,’ she said.
