“Like many other couples, having a baby hasn’t been an easy journey for us but we feel very lucky to be meeting our newest addition next year.”

The couple have decided to wait until the birth to discover their baby’s gender.

“It’s one of life’s very few guaranteed surprises and for us the most important thing is that we have a healthy baby,” Cr Pratt said.

While the pair has had interesting and varied careers, they said they would not be guiding their child down any particular path.

“The hardest choice they will have to make though is which footy team to support,” Cr Pratt said.

“With one of us an Eagles fan and the other a Dockers fan, it will make for very interesting family derby days.”
