Cockburn likely to keep hosting junior breakdancing state titles

More than 200 competitors and spectators packed the Youth Centre venue in September to watch some of the state’s most talented boys and girls go to work showing off their skills.

“The Junior Breaking Championship was an awesome experience,” Aadhishan said.

“I was very nervous but started to become more and more confident with each round.

“It still hasn’t sunk in yet that I am the WA breaking champ for under-10s.”

Youth Centre duty supervisor Kerri Mulford said the success of the competition, and the number of girls taking part, showed the venue was perfect for hosting the competition.

“The City intends to hold this event again,” she said.

“The breakdancing community needs a facility that is community-orientated, accessible and safe and allows dancers to practise and perform.”
