Community forum to tackle crime concerns

Staff ReporterFremantle Gazette

City chief executive Stephen Cain said the relocation of police to Cockburn Central in 2017 had caused unrest among the community. He said the City wanted to assure residents it had a range of safety and security initiatives to complement the services provided by police.

‘Like most localities, community safety is near the top of the list when residents are asked to comment about their neighbourhoods,’ he said.

‘The City will hold the forum and its officers will discuss city-wide initiatives such as CoSafe, graffiti and CCTV. The WA Police will be doing a presentation outlining an overview of crime statistics in the district, policing strategies and the location of police stations in the district.
