David Carson and Wembley resident Paul Houghton are working together to piece together a definitive account of Campbell’s land and water speed record-breaking feats in 1964. Their research will culminate in a multi-media exhibition at the end of the year.

Before that, though, they need to collect as much material as possible. Mr Carson said the duo, big fans of police procedure dramas, have created a forensics wall at the Fremantle Arts Centre which they hope to fill before February 15.

‘We have about 200 pictures on the wall so far and this is just the beginning,’ he said.
