Coolbellup drug, weapon charges: man arrested after booze bus stop

A MAN has been charged with drug and weapon offences after being stopped by a booze bus on Stock Road in Coolbellup on Thursday night.

And a second man was summonsed to appear in court on drug offences later in the evening after police executed a search warrant at the driver’s last known address.

About 7.30pm on Thursday, the driver was stopped and tested positive for methylamphetamine use.

His vehicle was subsequently searched, and police allege they uncovered two knuckle dusters, a ring knife and a long black baton.

They also found clip seal bags containing small amounts of methamphetamine, several smoking utensils and a small quantity of pills believed to be ecstasy and LSD.

During the search of the man’s former residence, police allegedly uncovered 10 grams of cannabis along with several smoking implements.

A 30-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with possessing a prohibited weapon, possessing a smoking utensil and four counts of possessing a prohibited drug.

A 26-year-old Hilton man has been summonsed to appear in court at a later date for allegedly possessing a prohibited drug and possessing a smoking utensil.
