NATIVE ARC manager Dean Huxley is on an urgent mission to save a young pup’s life.

Mr Huxley and partner Georgia Rowley need $8000 to put an eight-week-old red heeler named Quincy through surgery.

Suffering two congenital heart defects, the puppy will die without the corrective treatment.

The couple adopted the puppy after it was surrendered to the Melville Animal Hospital where Ms Rowley is a vet nurse.

They have set up a GoFundMe page to help cover the costs and will hold a “Meet Quincy” day at the Cockburn Wetlands Education Centre on Saturday between 11am and noon.

“Surgery is specialised and expensive and is the only chance for Quincy to have a life full of love, joy and toys,” he wrote on the fundraising page.

They have raised just over half their target so far.
