Creative Shed Cockburn was set up to provide a place where people of all ages, abilities and cultures could come together to craft and create.

Co-founder Frances Stone said there were many in the community who felt “helpless, lonely and bored”.

She wants them to come down each Wednesday and get involved.

“With this support people may become more confident in being involved in their community just like we were in the old days when people made things together or helped each other with cooking, gardening, sewing or even making an artistic piece for their community,” she said.

The Creative Shed has been running since January in Hamilton Hill.

Activities include printmaking, healthy cooking, singing, creative writing, upcycling clothes and furniture and clay work.
