There will be frosting and cupcake happiness in the hospital next Monday as staff take part in the RSPCA Cupcake Day to fight cruelty against animals.

Fremantle Hospital’s Nursing Corporate Services administrative assistant Ashelin Copeland said her two greatest loves were animals and baking, so she was happy to be able to combine the two for a good cause.

‘We set up a stall in Nursing HR and then move it out into the main waiting room to allow the public to buy cupcakes or make donations,’ she said.

‘Everyone gets very involved and excited as soon as they hear it is for the RSPCA. They all have an animal story to share.

‘I work in a hospital where every day thousands of people work together to help each other. I feel that animals deserve the same attention.’
