Dubbed ‘Delaney’s Donkeys’, the Melville Striker Indoor Centre soccer dads will drive around WA for three days in the Daniher’s Drive for MND WA 2015, named after AFL legend and former Fremantle Dockers assistant coach Neale Daniher, who is battling the disease.
Team spokesman Greg Muir said the group got together to rally behind team captain Damian Delaney, who was diagnosed with MND in May.
“It’s still early days, but we’re right behind him, and we’re out there in the community making sure that we can raise as much money as we can to assist with battling this horrible disease,” he said.
“Since we became friends, two of the group have moved away overseas, but they’re coming back from Singapore and Canada to join us.”
