Mater Christi students have taken eagerly to Edu-Dance, a creative hip-hop program designed for primary school students, with routines danced to music from Michael Jackson, Guy Sebastian and other prominent artists.

‘We have seen the impact first-hand it has on the students in improving confidence in many aspects of school life,’ assistant principal Mark Ryan said.

‘It gives students another avenue to shine outside of the classroom environment.’

Olivia, a Year 1 student, said she was always excited to have a go.

‘I especially love school the day I have Edu-Dance,’ she said.

‘The teacher is so nice, the moves are cool and the music is groovy.

‘Getting fit and healthy is so much fun.’

The school held three concerts, split into groups of 90 students, to show parents what all the excitement was about.
