Jessica NicoFremantle Gazette

A TEAM of academics committed to improving the health of Aboriginal people has been rewarded for its dedication.

The University of Notre Dame’s Aboriginal Health Team of David Paul, Clive Walley, Louise Austen, Sharon Bell and Denise Groves, who have been working to close the health gap between indigenous and non-indigenous people, received the LIMElight Award for Excellence in Community Engagement at the seventh Leaders in Indigenous Medical Education (LIME) Connection.

Professor Paul said the award recognises a program that allows Notre Dame medicine students to travel through WA and work alongside Aboriginal elders to spread information about a number of health issues.
