Demand for |licence change

Jessica NicoFremantle Gazette

The members of Stop Cockburn Cement – most of which are residents from Coogee, Beeliar, Munster and Yangebup – drew up a petition calling on changes to be written into a new license to address the community’s health and environment concerns.

Stop Cockburn Cement’s Sarah Jane said with the renewal deadline coming up next week, it was the perfect time for the community to have their say on the issues that affected them.

“The State Government either needs to make major legislation and licence changes, or they need to invest the money into moving Cockburn Cement to a location with a sufficient buffer from residences to allow public safety,” she said.
