The Freo Charity Car Cruise test run in November proved a big success.

The brainchild of Fremantle resident Carmelo Amalfi, the inaugural Freo Charity Car Cruise will pace the |now traditional ‘bog laps’ through the Cappuccino Strip to raise money for Breast |Cancer Care WA and the Prostate Cancer Foundation|of Australia (PCFWA).

More than 100 car enthusiasts are expected to take part, with local businesses also playing a part by displaying collection boxes.

Mr Amalfi said bog laps “made” the Cappuccino Strip, saying it was a way to show off your wheels while cruising the streets and that he planned to make the event an annual one

PCFAWA state manager Cate Harman said they were thrilled to be a part of the event.

“Early detection of the disease is the key to saving lives and events such as this go a long way to raising awareness of prostate cancer,” she said.

Freo Charity Car Cruise is on February 14, starting from the Beach Street carpark at 11am before cruising through the Cappuccino Strip.
