A BIBRA LAKE resident has been rewarded for his work helping others and promoting a positive view of seniors.

Don Watson recently claimed the Community Senior Volunteer gong at the WA Seniors Awards.

Mr Watson (84) was successful in securing funding for computer training for seniors at the Cockburn Seniors Centre, has helped with the reproduction of maritime shipping relics and contributes to his Lakeside Village community as a volunteer driver and chairman.

It is not the first time Mr Watson has been recognised for his community work.

In 2010 he took home the City of Cockburn’s Inspirational Volunteer of the Year award, with his list of achievements so long there was not enough time to name them all.
