Double the roller derby fun at quiz, parade

The league, which trains out of O’Connor, will be holding their Let’s Get Down to Quizness fundraiser at the Fremantle Town Hall on November 15 and will be skating as part of the Fremantle Festival’s Street Parade on November 10 as a group of mythical sea creatures on skates.

WA Roller Derby vice president Rebecca Meakin aka Ophelia Terror, said being a volunteer-run sport, the team needed to run fundraising events like the quiz night to fund interstate bouts.

‘We’re a bunch of nerds with word geeks, trivia geeks, IT geeks, geeks of all stripes and we love the Fremantle Town Hall because we can have roller waitresses,’ she said.
