East Fremantle: George Street Festival is on again

BRINGING people together is what the George Street Festival wants to achieve.

The festival is back for another year after it began in the late 1980s.

East Fremantle Mayor Jim O’Neill said community festivals were important.

“It reflects the great community spirit in East Fremantle,” he said.

“The festival brings people together like family reunions.

“It’s a great excuse for friends, family and neighbours to get together and enjoy the spirit of the festival.

“Like family gatherings, partake of good food, be entertained and perhaps even catch up on news that our usually busy lifestyle prevents us from sharing.”

The festival will include artisan stalls, music, busking and street artists.
