PROTESTERS will gather at the Royal George Hotel on Thursday morning.
In June,Councillors voted unanimously to approve the amendments to the local planning scheme limiting height of any developments on the Royal George Hotel to six storeys.
Saracen Properties, which owns the site, had announced a concept plan which included refurbishment of the hotel and a high-rise apartment block with a minimum of 40 apartments.
The Friends of the Royal George group have delivered a petition of over 1,800 signatures to Fremantle MLA Simone McGurk.
The planned protest follows a similar protest on October 14 to support the council position.
A final decision will be made by the Western Australian Planning Commission and the minister for Planning Rita Saffioti.
The protest will begin at 9am.
