“I got to a point in my professional career where I was like, what’s going to be next, and I always had a passion for teaching,” he said.

“I just want to spread dance to everyone and anyone, to people who think they have two left legs they can still dance.”

The former John Curtin College of the Arts student attended WAAPA before he moved to Sydney.

“I feel like there were moments were you have to pinch yourself,” he said.

“Being on set on the Great Gatsby was like that, where Leonardo, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan walking out and chatting to us, it was a pretty cool moment.”

The dance studio will be for adults and will teach commercial styles of dancing.

Mr Chandler said they were offering to teach what people see on television and videos.

“We have people who are aged between 18 to 50 years old,” he said,

“Some other places will get you to perform, what I want to do here is be like a gym replacement to fit into everyone’s lifestyle.

“It will be a mixed group and the environment will be social and supportive, we are all in this together, just come and realise your inner dancer.”

Classes are Tuesday and Thursday from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
