East Freo muso Connor Minervini vying for spot on Falls Festival line up

Jessica NicoFremantle Gazette

FOR East Fremantle muso Connor Minervini, performing in front of thousands at a home festival is a dream that is so close he can almost touch it.

Mr Minervini is the guitarist and vocalist for local band The Hunting Birds, who are one of six acts from WA vying for a gig on stage at the inaugural Falls Festival in Fremantle.

Describing their sounds as a “melting pot of different genres that come together in a folk/rock setting”, he said performing at the hugely popular festival would be down to the public, with a website set up for them to choose the band they would most like to see live on stage.

“Playing Falls would be a really amazing badge to add onto the sleeves,” he said.

“More then just a professional achievement though, playing a stage in downtown Fremantle where I’ve had such fond memories of growing up would be a really special moment for myself.

“The fact so many influential artists of mine and the music world have played festival stages here really puts in perspective how massive an opportunity playing Falls Festival really is.”
