A service station staff member then contacted police.

Several police units including canine unit vehicles and a police air wing helicopter were deployed to the area.

About 12.10am officers from the Regional Operations Group located the Honda Odyssey at the corner of High Street and Parry Street, Fremantle.

They attempted to stop the vehicle, however it will be alleged the driver failed to stop and accelerated away.

Police air wing officers arrived and took over the monitoring of the vehicle, allowing units on the ground to back away to a safe distance.

The vehicle drove around the Hamilton Hill area until a stinger device was successfully deployed on Carrington Street. The vehicle was abandoned shortly after with the occupants attempting to run away.
