EIGHT boys aged between 14 and 17 years old were arrested after a series of incidents in several Perth suburbs on Saturday night.

About 10.15pm on Saturday, a man who was on John Street, Northbridge was allegedly approached by a group of males and threatened with an axe.

The man allegedly had his bag stolen and the group left the scene in a Honda Odyssey, which police alleged was stolen during a burglary in Earlston Place, Booragoon some time on Friday night to Saturday morning.

Shortly after the incident in Northbridge, the same Honda Odyssey pulled up alongside a woman at Elizabeth Quay and one of the vehicle occupants allegedly approached her and demanded property. The woman handed over a bank card and the group left the scene in the vehicle.

About 10.50pm a man was approached by the occupants of the Honda Odyssey at the Burswood Park carpark and allegedly threatened with an axe and had his Honda Jazz stolen.

About 11.30pm the two stolen vehicles attended a service station on Berrigan Drive, South Lake. One of the vehicles struck the other (rear end crash), and some of the occupants entered the service station. One of the group allegedly stole items from the store, while the another paid for items.

A service station staff member then contacted police.

Several police units including canine unit vehicles and a police air wing helicopter were deployed to the area.

About 12.10am officers from the Regional Operations Group located the Honda Odyssey at the corner of High Street and Parry Street, Fremantle.

They attempted to stop the vehicle, however it will be alleged the driver failed to stop and accelerated away.

Police air wing officers arrived and took over the monitoring of the vehicle, allowing units on the ground to back away to a safe distance.

The vehicle drove around the Hamilton Hill area until a stinger device was successfully deployed on Carrington Street. The vehicle was abandoned shortly after with the occupants attempting to run away.

Officers on the ground assisted by the canine unit and police air wing arrested the six male juveniles.
