Elderly man dies after falling from a car in Beaconsfield

AN Elderly man has died following a crash in Beaconsfield yesterday.

The crash happened about 11am, when the 84-year-old man was sitting in a Volkswagen Golf in the driveway of a house on Michael Street.

It is believed he was assisting another man check the rear lights of the vehicle, when he pressed the accelerator instead of the brakes, causing the vehicle to reverse out of the driveway and into a neighbouring yard.

During this time the man fell from the vehicle, receiving serious head injuries.

He was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.

Another man aged in his 70s received minor injuries.
