En route for cures

After losing her mother and a friend to cancer, and finding out another friend had been diagnosed, Coolbellup resident Karen Letch knew she wanted to take on the challenge of the Weekend to End Women’s Cancers.

The event runs on March 15 and 16, with all funds going to the WA Institute for Medical Research.

‘I think it’s a really simple way to raise money and awareness of cancer and the effort that is ongoing to treat the disease,’ Ms Letch said.

‘It’s a way to get women talking about it and thinking about themselves. Quite often we get caught up in our everyday lives, so these events are great to stop and help out those that need it.’
