More than 50 retro and custom bikes will be on display on the Many 6160 rooftop, an event which organiser Robert Glenton said could be the first of its kind in the world.
“It’s far more than just a bike show, it is a celebration of the retro/custom lifestyle and includes vintage bikes and scooters, retro customs such as 1860s and 70s choppers, vintage hot rods, live music all day,” he said.
“One idea was to have a sort of street show and during discussions with the council about licensing such an event for alcohol, the events co-ordinator mentioned there had been a bar on the roof of the old Myer building.
“A bike show, on a rooftop, in the middle of a tourist hotspot? Surely not! It was a dream that came off in spectacular fashion.”
