CAT lovers are being encouraged to head along to Fremantle’s Italian Club on Saturday for a judging competition.

Cats United is holding the show with felines from around WA competing for the title of top cat.

Secretary Tara Jackson said there were 65 cats entered from a variety of breeds including ragdoll and oriental.

“Each cat is presented to the judge and they will judge the cat based on the standards such as eye shape, coat colour and pattern, and ears,” she said.

“After all cats have been presented to the judge, they will choose the best-of-the-best cat that day, and that cat will win the coveted best in show.

“Prizes, ribbons and trophies are awarded to the top cats of the day.”

Entry to the event is via a gold coin donation and the show begins at 9.30am.

Cats United started in November 2018 with an intent to promote responsible ownership.
