Kurtis Rae and Sav Ferraro, who had only completed a first aid course the day before, saved their team-mate Brad Golding’s life when he collapsed during training.

Atwell’s Sav Ferraro and Forrestfield local Kurtis Rae performed two-man CPR on Maddington White City teammate Brad Golding after he collapsed during a light endurance drill at the club’s training session in February.

Doctors said that if Mr Ferraro, who had only completed a four-hour first aid course the previous day, and Mr Rae not performed CPR until the ambulance arrived, the young player would have only had a 10 per cent chance of survival.

Brad said he would be forever thankful to the two guys he now calls friends.

‘I know that I might not be here if it weren’t for them,’ he said. ‘I just try to make the most of things now. I don’t want to regret not doing something.’
