Floral displays showcase changing seasons

South Fremantle’s Anna Forbes Rohan’s first installation will be a hanging citrus orchard, which will be installed on May 26 as an ode to winter.

Fremantle Markets chief executive Natasha Atkinson said the partnership with Botanica Naturalis came about almost by accident.

‘We first met Anna when she was purchasing our everlastings from last year’s wildflower display and when she was showing me examples of what she was planning to do with them, I just knew her ideas would be a perfect fit for the Fremantle Markets,’ she said.

‘The only problem was, I let her leave the building without grabbing her number.

‘So I had to post on Facebook advertising we were looking for someone to assist with our displays in the hope she would hear about it and contact me, and that’s how we found her.

‘Every visit to the market should be an experience and by changing our seasonal displays we hope to achieve this.

‘Things will grow and flower or fruit each time you visit until the end of the season when we will remove them and start the process again.’
