Local flower enthusiast Michael Harries and his wife Merrie-Jane decided earlier this year to follow their love for all things flora and start up their own fresh flower business in the Fremantle Markets.

Mr Harries said Flowers in the Yard would have a wide range of locally grown, fresh flowers for Mother’s Day and every other special day.

‘I’ve worked with fresh flowers for many years and I am constantly amazed at the wide variety available,’ he said.

‘I have water lilies in the shop at the moment and I don’t think ill ever get tired of watching them open.

‘Offering fresh flowers in the market allows people to do all their shopping in the one location and as a consumer, whether you are buying flowers as a gift or just for yourself, you want them to last as long as they can.’

Flowers in the Yard is open Friday to Sunday during regular Fremantle Markets opening times.
