Former Kookaburras player Matthew Bird sentence date confirmed

FORMER Kookaburras hockey player Matthew Bird will be sentenced in late October in the District Court for three counts of selling a prohibited drug.

Bird appeared in court this morning, but was not required to speak.

On June 5 he pleaded guilty in Fremantle Magistrates Court to three charges of selling a prohibited drug.

The Coolbellup resident was caught selling drugs in Perth on February 18 and 30 and in Bateman on May 3.

Bird will return to the Fremantle Magistrates Court on August 28 for a possessing a weapon charge.

An additional sentencing listing will be held at the District Court on August 31.

His bail has been extended.
