Forum pushes health campaign up a gear

Staff ReporterFremantle Gazette

The community group has been campaigning to decrease the amount of freight entering Fremantle Port by truck and increase the proportion delivered by rail.

Convener Annolies Truman said putting more freight on rail would save the community from the social, environmental and health effects of the growing truck numbers, and it is these issues that will be discussed at the forum.

The forum will include guest speakers George Crisp from Doctors for the Environment, Shane Chambers, an acoustic physicist, and Fremantle Road to Rail’s Barry Healy.
