East Hamilton Primary School student Lochlain Hayes recently found out he would be attending Perth Modern School in 2015.
To gain entry to the school, students must perform well in tests set by the Education Department’s Gifted and Talented unit.
The announcement was a big boon for the 11-year-old who already has dreams of becoming a doctor.
It is also a boost for his current school, with a community view it is not in the best shape. Principal Geoff Miller said Lochlain’s success was proof against that notion.
