The two towns could soon take that connection down a technological route with talks of setting up a live stream connection between their respective Bon Scott statues.
Let There Be Rock Promotions’ Doug Thorncroft, who was one of the driving forces behind the commissioning of the statue, said it was time to connect the two locations with a live video link booth.
“At the top of every Bon Scott fan’s bucket list is to visit Bon’s birth place and his spiritual rest place, Fremantle,” he said.

READ NOW“We’d like to see a ‘Livewire’ live video booth set up at each of the statues that fans and tourists can walk up to at any time of the day or night, press a button and chat to someone at the other location. The video booth would also be an information kiosk telling the story of Bon and AC/DC.”
Mr Thorncroft said funding would be an obstacle, but they were expecting to set up the link in time for next year’s 10th anniversary of the statue being in the Fishing Boat Harbour.
